Title: Walking in Expectation: Preparing for Your Miracle
Scripture:
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” – Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
Message:
The life of a believer is one of expectation—expectation that God will fulfill His promises, answer prayers, and bring about miracles in our lives. Walking in expectation means living every day with a heart full of hope and faith, knowing that God is at work even when we cannot see it.
In Hebrews 11:1, we learn that faith is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance of what we do not see. This verse teaches us that faith is not just a passive belief but an active expectation. It’s believing that God will do what He has said, even before we see any evidence of it.
When you walk in expectation, you prepare for your miracle before it happens. You start making room in your life for the blessing you are anticipating. Consider the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34. She had suffered for twelve years, yet she believed that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, she would be healed. Her expectation drove her to act, and as a result, she received her miracle.
To walk in expectation means to live with a mindset that says, “God is about to do something great in my life.” It’s an attitude that refuses to settle for less than God’s best and continues to trust Him even when the circumstances seem contrary. This expectation is not based on wishful thinking, but on the solid foundation of God’s Word and His faithfulness.
However, expectation requires preparation. If you’re expecting rain, you bring an umbrella. If you’re expecting a harvest, you plant seeds. In the same way, if you’re expecting a miracle, you align your actions, words, and thoughts with that expectation. You begin to speak words of faith, surround yourself with people who believe, and create an environment where your faith can grow.
Expectation also involves patience and perseverance. Sometimes, the miracle doesn’t come immediately, and you may be tempted to give up. But walking in expectation means continuing to believe, even when the wait is long. It’s trusting that God’s timing is perfect and that He is never late.
Moreover, your expectation must be grounded in God’s promises. When you stand on His Word, you are building your faith on a rock-solid foundation. Whether it’s healing, provision, breakthrough, or restoration, find Scriptures that speak to your situation and meditate on them daily. Let God’s Word shape your expectations and fuel your faith.
As you walk in expectation, remember that God delights in fulfilling His promises. He is a good Father who loves to give good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11). So, lift your eyes to Him, trust in His goodness, and prepare your heart for the miracle He is about to bring.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for the miracles You are preparing to release in my life. Help me to walk in expectation, with a heart full of faith and hope. Teach me to prepare for the blessings You have in store, and to trust in Your perfect timing. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
