Trusting God’s Goodness

Scripture:
“The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.”
— Psalm 145:9 (NIV)

Message:
Trusting in God’s goodness is foundational to our faith. Life can sometimes present challenges that make it hard to see God’s hand at work. Yet, the Bible repeatedly reminds us that God is inherently good. His nature is unchanging, and His love for us is steadfast, even in times of difficulty.

We live in a world where pain, injustice, and sorrow are often visible. In those moments, we may be tempted to question God’s goodness or wonder if He sees what we are going through. However, God’s goodness is not dependent on our circumstances. His goodness is part of His character, which remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

When we face trials, it is important to remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness in the past. He has always been good, even when we didn’t fully understand His plans. By reflecting on how He has carried us through previous struggles, we can strengthen our trust in His goodness for the future.

God’s goodness is also evident in His promises. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). He has promised to work all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Even when life doesn’t make sense, we can trust that God is weaving a greater purpose through every situation.

Furthermore, His goodness can be experienced through His provision, protection, and grace in our everyday lives. Often, the simple blessings we overlook are reminders of His goodness—our breath, the love of family and friends, and the peace that comes from knowing Him.

Trusting in God’s goodness means surrendering our fears and uncertainties, knowing that His intentions toward us are always good. He is not just a distant God watching from afar; He is a loving Father who delights in blessing His children. Even in seasons of waiting or suffering, we can rest assured that His goodness will ultimately shine through.

As we grow in faith, we learn to trust not only in what God does but in who He is. His goodness is something we can anchor ourselves in, especially when the storms of life come. Trust Him, for He is good, and His love endures forever.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unchanging goodness. Help me to trust in Your character and Your promises, even when life is hard to understand. Remind me of Your past faithfulness, and give me peace in knowing that You are always working for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
