Basking in the Goodness of the Lord
Scripture:
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.”
— Psalm 34:8 (NIV)
Message:
The goodness of God is not just something we hear about or read in scripture—it’s something we are meant to experience in our everyday lives. When we take time to reflect on His goodness, we begin to see His hand in every aspect of our lives. From the blessings of health, provision, and relationships to the unseen ways He protects and sustains us, God’s goodness is evident.
To “bask” in the Lord’s goodness means to rest in His love and trust that He is working all things together for our good. Even in difficult seasons, when challenges arise, and we can’t see the full picture, His goodness remains. His faithfulness is a constant that we can lean on, knowing that His plans for us are always rooted in love and care.
As we reflect on His goodness, we cultivate a heart of gratitude. Gratitude allows us to shift our focus from what we lack to all that we’ve been blessed with. It invites us to trust in His provision and embrace His timing. When we bask in God’s goodness, we are reminded that He is our refuge, our strength, and the source of every good thing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your unchanging goodness in my life. Help me to see Your blessings every day and to trust in Your care, even in the difficult moments. May my heart overflow with gratitude as I bask in Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
