A Joy No Devil Can Steal
Scripture:
“And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”
— John 16:22 (KJV)
There is a kind of joy the world didn’t give you—and therefore, the world cannot take it away. This joy isn’t dependent on happenings or feelings; it is rooted in the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost. Jesus promised this kind of joy to His disciples—a joy no man, no demon, no circumstance can steal.
The joy of the Lord is not merely an emotional high; it is spiritual strength. The Bible declares, “The joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). This means when you’re joyful in the Spirit, you’re spiritually invincible. Joy is a force—it sustains you in trials, powers your faith, and frustrates the enemy’s tactics.
Satan knows he cannot defeat a joyful Christian. When he throws situations at you and sees you laughing, dancing, and rejoicing instead of complaining, he is confused and disarmed. That’s why Paul could say, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4). Joy is your victory song even before the battle is over.
Understand this: your joy is divine, and it is your inheritance in Christ. It flows from your union with the Father. It’s not based on a bank account, a medical report, or a job title—it’s anchored in Christ alone. When you focus on who you are in Him, and all He has done, your joy overflows. And that joy becomes your defense.
No matter what life throws your way, guard your joy. Don’t let temporary trouble rob you of eternal gladness. Don’t trade your joy for worry. Smile in the storm. Rejoice in the fire. Celebrate even when it seems foolish—because your joy is a statement of faith, and faith always wins.
Confession:
I have joy that cannot be stolen, shaken, or silenced. My joy is rooted in Christ and fueled by the Holy Spirit. No challenge can override it, and no devil can quench it. I live rejoicing daily, knowing that the greater One lives in me. Hallelujah!
