Seeing the Goodness of God in Others

Scripture:
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
— Romans 12:10 (NIV)

Message:
In our daily interactions, it can sometimes be challenging to see the goodness of God in others, especially when we focus on flaws or imperfections. However, as followers of Christ, we are called to look deeper, beyond the surface, to recognize the image of God in those around us. Every person, created in God’s likeness, carries a reflection of His goodness, even when it is difficult to see.

When we intentionally look for God’s goodness in others, it transforms the way we engage with the world. Instead of being quick to judge or criticize, we become vessels of grace, seeing people through God’s eyes—with love, patience, and kindness. This perspective helps us appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and fosters deeper connections, rooted in the love of Christ.

Christ demonstrated this by reaching out to the marginalized, the broken, and even those whom society had rejected. He saw their potential, their value, and the spark of God within them. In the same way, we are called to see the goodness of God in others, even when it’s hidden behind pain, mistakes, or difficult circumstances.

By choosing to honor and uplift one another, we create a community that reflects the heart of God. Our willingness to see and affirm the goodness in others can inspire change, healing, and growth. It is through this loving lens that we become agents of peace, helping others recognize their worth in Christ.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to see Your goodness in those around me. Open my eyes to the beauty of Your image in every person I encounter, and teach me to honor, love, and uplift them as You do. Let my heart be full of grace and compassion, always seeking to reflect Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
