Eyes Fixed on Jesus
Scripture:
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2
Message:
Life is filled with distractions, challenges, and uncertainties that can easily pull our focus away from what truly matters. In the midst of life’s storms, the Bible reminds us to fix our eyes on Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith, the One who began the good work in us and is faithful to complete it.
When Peter walked on water towards Jesus, he did the impossible—until he shifted his focus to the storm around him. The moment he looked away from Jesus, fear crept in, and he began to sink. This account illustrates a profound truth: when we fix our eyes on Jesus, we rise above life’s challenges; but when we focus on the problem, we are overwhelmed by it.
Fixing your eyes on Jesus means trusting Him completely, acknowledging His Lordship, and seeking His direction in all areas of your life. It means turning to Him in prayer, meditating on His Word, and living by faith even when circumstances seem bleak. Jesus endured the cross with His eyes set on the joy before Him—our redemption. Similarly, we can endure life’s trials with hope when our eyes are set on Him.
No matter what you face today, look to Jesus. He is your strength, your peace, and your guide. When your gaze is locked on Him, the storms of life lose their power, and His light shines the way forward.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I fix my eyes on You today. Help me to see beyond my circumstances and focus on Your love, grace, and faithfulness. Strengthen my faith and guide my steps as I trust in Your perfect plan for my life. Thank You for being the author and finisher of my faith. In Your name, Amen.
