PRACTICE WHO YOU ARE
Scripture Reading
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
— James 1:22 (KJV)
Message
Your identity in Christ is not something you struggle to obtain; it is something you learn to live out. When you were born again, God gave you a new nature. You became a new creation, with new desires and a new purpose.
However, the reality of this new identity becomes visible as you consistently practice it in your daily life. Knowing who you are in Christ is important, but living according to that truth is what brings transformation.
If the Word says you are righteous, practice righteousness in your choices and actions. If the Word declares that you are the light of the world, live in a way that reflects that light to others. Your behavior, speech, and decisions should gradually align with the identity God has given you.
Spiritual growth happens through practice. Just as skills improve with repetition, spiritual maturity grows as you consistently apply God’s Word. Each time you choose faith over fear, love over bitterness, or truth over compromise, you are practicing who you truly are in Christ.
The more you practice your identity, the more natural it becomes. Eventually, the life of Christ within you becomes evident to everyone around you.
Confession
I am a new creation in Christ.
I live according to the identity God has given me.
My thoughts, words, and actions reflect the righteousness and love of Christ.
Every day I grow stronger in my faith and purpose, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
